Looking for an easy introduction to Meditation?

Good morning everyone. What a last few weeks we had here in Canada during the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. There was so much excitement and inspiration from all the athletes and stories! I thought Canada did a great job as hosts and everything went as smooth as possible. Way to go Canada!

I am actually writing a quick post to try and help anyone who might be interested in testing out Meditation, but do not know where to start. It can be intimidating if you aren't sure where to begin. Recently I found some great "Guided Mediations" (for free) on one of my favourite mentors/authors site - Deepak Chopra. I have read some of his books and read his blog posts weekly. You can check out all of his work over at http://www.chopra.com/

Lately, I have been doing some of the Guided Meditations listed on his Online Library page and I really enjoy them. There is a good variety there and they usually run between 10 and 15 minutes in length. I find it's a great way to start off the day. I usually do one after I do my morning Yoga workout and then I am ready to take on the World :-) (or at least be part of it). You can easily subscribe to the list also through an iTunes subscription if that interests you. Hopefully, this post finds someone who is thinking about flirting with Meditation. I strongly recommend giving it a shot and seeing if you enjoy it! Hopefully it can help you as much as it has for me over the past few years. Let us know how you make out in the comments below or if anyone else can suggest some other resources for people to try that would be great also! Take care, thanks for dropping by.

How to Use Meditation to Free Yourself From Depression | Goodlife Zen

Hey Everyone,

I am always talking about how good Meditation is for "everyone". I never realized until recently that people who may be depressed can actually have a hard time with Meditation. It can actually make things worse for them if they aren't careful -- I just thought it would work the same for everyone, but I am learning that is not always the case. So, here are a few pointers on how Meditation can really help you if you are depressed and the proper ways to practice it. Hopefully this can help someone along their Journey who may have a hard time practicing - Click here to view the full article.

Thanks,
Adrian
