Tiger Woods and Compassion...
I am sure most people are already tired of hearing about Tiger Woods, but I really wanted to write a quick post on Tiger Woods and having compassion for others. I am going to keep it short and sweet, so here goes.
I am still a little in shock from the whole story that has been unloaded on us over the past few weeks. Maybe I had Tiger up on a pedestal like many others obviously did. First off, I by no means agree with anything he has done in respect to his family, friends and himself. However, I am a little tired of hearing the media (surprise, surprise) and others continually rip him apart day after day for the mistakes he has made. I know for me personally I have had to deal with others and things in my past where I've had to forgive them and show compassion and move on. I am sure others have had to do the same with me also :-). We are all Human Beings here and need to do that for each other. I am not saying we can run out and do whatever we want and maybe hurt others and then ask for forgiveness - we ALL have to be responsible and accountable for our actions, but obviously Tiger has some issues and suffering inside and we have no idea (and my never know) what has ever happened to him in his life time. Just because he is the #1 athlete in the world and looked to have had it all, obviously doesn't mean that is the case.
I hope him and his family can work things out for the best for everyone involved (what ever that ends up being). I think if Tiger can get through this he could still be one of the most influential people in the world and hopefully make a difference somehow. If he has issues he is dealing with, he could also use this as a way to help others who may struggle and suffer the same as he has in the past. I really hope he comes out some day and talks about everything that has happened and then maybe we can have some answers to the many questions (although does that really matter?). I know I can personally show compassion for him with or without those answers because I am a Human Being and I know at the core every Human Being is innocent and good. I wish I could word it better but sometimes our egos and suffering can get the best of us and that can make us do things we regret down the road. Hopefully Tiger can turn his Journey around for the better and make a difference once again.
Cheers,Adrian
