The crowd continues to grow!

Hey Everyone! I just wanted to send a quick update and thank you to all the people who have been using begr8ful.com --It's been over 2 months since we launched the site in hopes of bringing more happiness to people everywhere. I hope some people are finding value from the site. I know it has helped me a lot and even changes the way I think while I do my day to day things. Sometimes I may just look at something and think "I am grateful I just saw that", etc. As I posted before, I am a firm believer that the more Gratitude you can find in your life the happier you can be. It still has to come from within as we know external things can't make us happy! I hope this site can help make you be aware of all the great things in your life.

Here are a few numbers from the first 2 months since the site was launched:
  • There are now close to 200 people using the site.
  • There have been close to 800 gratitude postings using the site.
Some great numbers so far. I hope it continues to grow and people continue to enjoy the site. This week we released a new homepage with some recent gratitude scrolling and an area displaying some recent people who have been grateful on the site. If you click their images you can see there recent posts on the site also! We are hoping to have some new features very soon also. Photos and video linking would be great so we can have even more of a visual of why people are so grateful! If anyone has any other suggestions, please leave a comment below or email me directly at anadeau@evolvingsolutions.ca Thank you!

Be Grateful updates, THANK YOU!

Hey Everyone!

I just wanted to give a quick update and THANK YOU to all the people of have jumped on board the "Gratitude Evolution". It's a dream we started a couple of months ago and it's off to a great start so far! I first posted about "How to be Grateful..." on May 14th and then launched the new BeGr8ful.com site shortly after that on May 21st. Sharing our love and gratitude is making a huge difference and it is started to spread nicely throughout the World. I would personally like to thank everyone who is using the site and sharing their gratitude, it's very inspiring. We basically built this site without knowing how many people would use it. I knew I would use it and I always had the thought that even if 5 people used it and benefited from it then it was well worth the time! Here are a few numbers from the first 2 weeks of use for the site:

  • Close to 100 grateful users already!
  • Close to 200 reasons to be grateful already! (average of 2 posts per user, we must be grateful for more than that!)

Now that it seems to be rolling along nicely we are going to add in some new features soon. We are close to launching a new mobile version of the site so it will be easier to share your gratitude from your phone. We also hope to have an option to upload an image along with your gratitude to express it even that much more (imagine pictures of your children, pets and/or Nature!). We also plan to add a few other things along the way also, so please if you have any suggestions leave them in the comments below or click on the "Feedback" link on the site.  Please don't forget than you can also sign up for the daily email reminder at the following link - http://www.begr8ful.com/settings.jsp (after you are logged in). It helps to have a friendly reminder each day to be grateful. Even on those rainy, dark days (probably more important on those days actually :-) )

Thanks again everyone, I am grateful for everyone who is using the site and I hope it keeps it's momentum! Take care everyone.

Adrian

The gratitude site is here for you!

Hey Everyone! I am very excited to let you know that there is a new site available to everyone (for FREE of course) that I hope can help people with their everyday lives. I recently wrote a post on "How to be Grateful" and the benefits it can have on your life to be grateful. There are a number of resources that support this and I truly believe it can make a huge difference in your life to be grateful each and everyday for all the amazing things we have in our life.

The site has been built to be simple and easy to use. We know everyone has busy lives these days so we wanted to make it very easy to get started on being grateful! All you need to do is visit the site, login with any of the accounts listed (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc) and then type in what you are grateful for (in 255 characters or less). After you submit your gratefulness you can then share it with the world through your Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts. We have big dreams of hopefully getting a lot of people using the site, so please share your gratitude as much as possible. I really believe every little bit of gratitude helps the World, even if we realize it or not! There is even a page where you can "Recruit" your friends and family to join in on the Gratitude Evolution. In the meantime, sit back and grab a coffee and/or tea and see what some of the new users have been grateful for already! It's very inspiring to read what people have been entering so far! Hopefully we can keep it rolling and all benefit from the gratitude being displayed on the site.

Thank you very much!
Adrian

Note: You can access the site on most mobile smartphones and we hope to release a more simplified mobile version in the future. We also would like to possibly add easier ways to submit your gratitude (via Facebook, Twitter, etc) if people would be interested in that. Please feel free to leave any suggestions or questions in the comments below or email me at anadeau@evolvingsolutions.ca -- Thanks!

How to be Grateful...

Hey Everyone! It's been awhile since I've blogged, but I am back and blogging about being grateful. Learning how to be grateful is an amazing "skill" to develop. Over the last year or so I have been trying to shift a lot of my focus on being grateful for many things in my life. I hope that this blog post can assist others in becoming grateful in their lives. We are also about to launch a new Grateful site shortly that I think can make a huge difference in peoples lives. Stay tuned for more on that!

Learning how to be grateful isn't something that should be done because other's expect us to. It's simply a way of making life that much brighter. If you try to force the process out of a sense of duty, you'll get nowhere near as far as you would if you approach it with a sense of joy and wonder.

How can you learn how to be grateful & get this wonderful feeling in your own life? It's very simple and easy. Here are some points that I find may help you get comfortable with being grateful.

1. Choose what to focus on. If you spend time learning how to play the drums, you'll get better at them. If you train to run a marathon, you'll get better at it. If you teach yourself to do Sudoku puzzles, you'll get better at them. It's the same with gratitude. Every day, look around and open your eyes to the things around you that you can be grateful for. Since you're reading this, I'm going to assume you have an Internet connection. Since you have that Internet connection, I'm going to assume you have a house, and a job to pay for that connection with. That's 3 things right there that you could be grateful for (perhaps you already are grateful for them, which is great). It's also great to think about more subtle things that you could be grateful for. The fact you can read. The fact that you have eyes to see with. The fact that your brain is comprehending the words you're reading. Some of those things might have occurred to you already, and that's great! You're already on the way. Fine tune your focus to see the good things in life!

2. Constantly look for new things to be grateful for. Every day, I'm grateful for tea or coffee and a hot shower. Which is fine. I feel grateful for those things every day, so I list them every day. However, it's easy to get stuck in a rut, so I'm constantly looking for more things to be grateful for, every day. This gives me more chances to feel good, and who doesn't want that? It also keeps things fresh and exciting :-)

3. Get used to the feeling of gratitude. Take something, right now, that you actually feel grateful for, and feel grateful for it. Get used to that feeling of warmth and happiness. Feels great, doesn't it? Exercise your "gratitude muscles" by feeling grateful as often as possible. Like any muscle, the more you exercise it, the stronger it gets. This kind of exercising actually feels good (as does other exercising), you feel happy and satisfied.

4. Things could always be worse. If you stub your big toe, be grateful that you didn't stub two toes. And if you did stub two toes, be grateful that you didn't break them. And if you did break them, be thankful that your body will heal them. Yes, negative things do happen. Be aware of them, but don't focus on them. Don't ignore them either. Focusing on them can turn a stubbed toe into a broken leg. Ignoring them can turn a broken toe into a badly set toe. Neither of those things are good. Being aware of those things enables you to take steps to correct them, which can teach you a new skill set - something else to be grateful for. Sounds like a simple example, but it's true.

"Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others." ~ Cicero

Please feel free to add any other comments below on how you practice gratitude in your lives! I am really excited to hear what you have to add and also to launch the new website in the next few days! Thank you!
