Patricia is an international speaker, trainer, retreat and seminar leader, as well as a sought after business and life coach.

We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us. ~Joseph Campbell

If today were my last day on Earth and I could share 500 words of brilliance with the world, here are the important things I'd want to pass along to others...

"Know thyself" and "To thine own self be true" are old but wise quotes that have been very important, sometimes painful and transformative and liberating lessons for me. A key technique in knowing myself that is vital to making life decisions that are aligned with being true to myself is developing, listening to and then trusting my intuition. Over and over again I continue to discover that my inner voice, what I call my intuitive knowing, or Divine Guidance, is always right. The problem I have had is that my head often overrides my gut feelings, that deep knowing in my belly and body, that is directing me towards what is right in my life. My head talks loudly, sometimes screams, my gut is quieter and more subtle. My heart also wants to be heard but often is more emotional.

To have my head, heart and gut in sync is not always easy or possible. The more centered I am in myself the more clear I am.

The key is when I take the time for myself to get quiet in my mind, I can actually hear and feel my intuition. Making the time for quiet with myself and then acting on my deep inner knowing is a lesson I keep learning over and over again. Part of the lesson valuing and making the time to get quiet, self care, listen and reflect in my busy life. This lesson is often painful as I know better. I am an awakening, conscious, spiritual woman. When I do not listen the lessons get more and more painful. Looking back and reflecting I can see that from the beginning I was giving the right direction, did not listen and thought I knew better from my head and felt better from my heart. Each time the stakes get higher until I finally get it! TRUST my Self (Higher Self), even when it may not make sense rationally or emotionally! I am committed to living an authentic life, working relating in integrity. My true integrity comes from within, taking the time to listen, weighing all the options and then choosing with courage.

My work as a coach, facilitator and retreat and seminar leader is "Reinventing Success from the Inside Out" by "Reclaiming Our Wholeness". Our wholeness is our unique, one of a kind, inner essence, our heart, intuition and gifts to the world. It takes courage to know and love and acknowledge yourself, in spite of what and who the world and others want you to be. When we reclaim and accept our inner self and inner life, and balance it with our outer expression and relationships, we in the flow of Divine Grace. We create and relate with more ease, trust and live our potential. My lesson is to trust, know and love myself and continue to reinvent my life as a model of success from the inside out. In the coming year I continue to commit more deeply to myself and make choices that support my integrity. This is a step in self-love. If I do not do this for me no one else will. Your brilliance is remembering that "THERE IS ONLY ONE OF YOU IN ALL OF TIME!" You have a responsibility to shine for yourself and what and who you are meant to be in the world.

We each have a purpose. Allow yourself to live your dreams. Have the courage to be your own best friend and act on what you love and who you are! We are all diamonds in the rough, some facets rougher than others, some more brilliant, yet still diamonds.

Have patience with the process of shining and the world will be brighter for it! You are worth it!!

Books to help manage Anxiety... Every little thing is gonna be alright!

So we all hear about an increase in Anxiety these days for a lot of us... not only does it seem to be increasing in Human Beings but also in pets, I hear more and more animals ripping out their fur, taking medications, etc. I had a conversation with a good friend today about someone that is close to them dealing with a few Anxiety issues so I decided to write post today on some resources that have helped me over the years deal with certain situations that have brought on some Anxious moments for me. It's actually turned out to be a very positive thing in my life as I've learned and improved many aspects of my life because ot it. Here's a perfect tune to listen to while you read this post by Bob Marley:

First off, I hope anyone having issues with Anxiety doesn't think they are crazy or are the only ones going through the tough times once in awhile. As I mentioned, unfortunately it's a more common problem then most of us know or might want to admit. I also feel it's something some of us have to deal with as an ongoing part of our lives. So, even though I wish I could tell you I think there is a fast, snap your fingers type fix for this, I don't believe that is true. I think it takes a lot of work and effort. Trust me, it's all worth it but I won't go into too many details at this moment on how to best manage Anxiety (maybe I can expand more if people want to hear more of my views). But I am going to start with a short list of books that I have read that really have made sense to me and helped me a lot. Here they are (not in any particular order):

1. A New Earth: Awakening To Your Life's Purpose - Eckhart Tolle

The book is focused on spirituality rather than on any particular religious denomination. I can honestly say this book has changed my life. It really makes you think about a lot of things and really tries to help you stay in the present moment, which is half (or more) the battle of Anxiety. This book can get pretty deep at times so some suggest trying to read the first 100 pages or so and see how it goes. If you aren't feeling it, maybe put it down for awhile and come back to it at a later time.

2. When Panic Attacks - David D. Burns, M.D.

This book really can hit home with anyone suffering with any type of Anxiety. I am not a huge fan of the title (seems kinda scary or something haha) of it but it's a great book with a lot of exercises that really make you over power negative thought patterns with more positive ones. Think of it more as a workbook.

3. The Little Book of Letting Go - Hugh Prather

This book is similar to "When Panic Attacks" other than it deals more with letting go of things like worrying, judgement, control, always being right, etc. Which are all things important to let go of if you are searching for Peace and/or Enlightenment. It also deals with how our ego can keep us from feeling connected to others and the Universe as a whole.

4. The Five Things We Cannot Change... and the Happiness We Find by Embracing Them - David Richo

This book is one I just found walking around the book store one day (a good friend of mine told me that books actually find us sometimes and I believe it). This one is similar to A New Earth and it deals a lot with the present moment and how our egos can get in the way sometimes and keep us from connecting to others and to the Universe. I have read a couple of this authors books and strongly recommend them for anyone who enjoys these types of books.

5. Anything by Dalai Lama - Dalai Lama

Over the past couple of years I have been reading more of his work and others writing about him and his experiences. I won't go into to much detail but a lot of his books deal with how to become Enlightened. He speaks a lot about Buddhism but also feels that you do note have to follow specific religion to be a peaceful, enlightened person. Very inspiring!

You will also notice that most of these books are around the 10 dollar range. It's hard to believe how much 20 or 30 dollars can really change your life if you pick up a few books to help you along your way. Also, please feel free to add any other resources in the comments that might help people along on their Journey... even when it gets a little anxious at times, Thanks! As with most tough things in life, we can turn it into a positive if we dig deep and work hard to change a few things.

Cheers,
Adrian

Disclaimer: I actually make a small percentage of the money spent on books sold through the Amazon links on this post. I guess you could look at it as a small donation to help me keep this blog going. Thanks!

Your state of mind is more important than what you are doing...

I've been reading a book recently that is really helping me Let Go of certain things. I don't think I have major issues but it always helps to read about some good reminders that might help us along our Journey. The name of the book just happens to be called "The Little Book of Letting Go" I recently spoke about it in another post titled Wish Me Luck. I wanted to share a simple quote with you all from the book that really hit home with me and has helped me since the day I read it.

"If it were possible to summarize all mystical teachings in a single sentence,
this one would come close: Make your state of mind more important than what you are doing"

I guess for me it just makes sense that if you ever get nervous, anxious, annoyed, angry, etc it's a good idea to sometimes just think about your state of mind instead of what you are actually doing or what is actually bothering you. I know for me some days if I'm not on my game or upset about something I try to remind myself that I choose "Peace" as my state of mind and almost instantly I feel better. What is your preferred state of mind when things get rocky? This practice may sound simple but it might also help you in certain times when you need it most! Take care everyone!

500 words for a more brilliant life...

Hey Everyone,

I hope everyone is having a great 2010 so far! I know some of you have made some resolutions for the New Year, I hope you are sticking to it. As I mentioned in a previous post (wishing me luck), I don't make resolutions but I am continuing to work on a few things to hopefully improve my Health and life. I am hanging in there, I haven't had a coffee (other than the odd decaf) since the day I decided to stop and everything else is going well also.

I would like to share a post with you from one of my new favorite blogs/sites over at Inspire Me Today. Brian Schwartz shares some great insight on how to live a purposeful, passionate life, if you are looking to achieve Greatness. I am not sure I could have explained it quite as well as him, but I agree a lot with what Brian has to offer. He really points to being passionate, pursuing goals, learning to take risks and also learning as the keys to a great life. Thanks for sharing some great insight Brian, please feel free to view his post below or click here to view it on the web. Thanks everyone. Take care!

Adrian

If today were my last day on Earth and I could share 500 words of brilliance with the world, here are the important things I'd want to pass along to others...

The keys to finding fulfillment in life may be different for each of us, but here is what I have discovered to work for me... and the essence of what I've discovered after my nearly 40 years on this wonderful planet. I hope these insights launch you into the next decade with powerful new renewed force and energy.

I discovered these four distinctions in the 50+ entrepreneurs I interviewed, but I do believe at their core, they also lead to a more fulfilling life:

1. Embrace a consuming passion by sharing it with others. Surround yourself with others who share your passion and you'll find they fuel that passion to take it further. Like a plant, if you don't give it sunshine to grow, it will die. Never let your passions die! The 'sticky' passions are those more important to others than they are to you. The more you share it, the stronger it becomes. Sharing it can be like adding a drop of Miracle Grow!

2. Pursue an impersonal goal. When you discover a purpose greater than yourself, you are willing to do it despite the money. It's more about the impact on other people than on you. I have found that by focusing more on others, I am both energized and I avoid depression.

3. Learn to embrace risk. A way to shift your perspective is to see risk as dashing into the future with hope and the possibility to move closer towards an impersonal goal/greater purpose. Many entrepreneurs that I interviewed shared that once they mentally accept the worst possible outcome, they feel empowered to take action. For more on this, read Bob Parsons' 16 Rules.

4. Emulate to learn, but innovate to earn. Emulating is a great way to get onto the field, but all great accomplishments in the world have stemmed from someone doing something different. Eventually, you need to blaze your own trail and innovate to find success. Once you realize this, you will no longer be worried about the competition because everyone can bring their own unique experiences to the table.

Those are the 4 principles I live by and strive to create every day. When you think about the one purpose we all have in common from cradle to grave it's simply TO CREATE. So get out and create something today. The most memorable experiences are those we create for ourselves. Give yourself a big hairy audacious goal to work towards it from now until your last breath. Make the goal more about others than yourself and assure you it will be more satisfying when it arrives. Every day you have the opportunity to create something awesome, so get to it! The last thing I want to share with everyone: "If you are not where you want to be in life, surround yourself with those who are."

Note: Inspire Me Today has some great information, blogs and newsletters over at inspiremetoday.com. Please take a moment to check it out if you can!

Greatness is an Evolution, not a Revolution

Many who know me well, know that one of my favourite bloggers/mentors out there is Robin Sharma I have read most of his books over the past 10 years and he has changed my life immensely. I follow his Blog, Twitter and Facebook pages regularly and highly recommend him to anyone looking for some inspiration and assistance on their Journey.

I'd like to share with you one of my all-time favourite posts from Robin titled Greatness by Evolution Versus Revolution In this post Robin does a great job of explaining how Greatness is achieved one step at a time and through slow, steady improvements. So many people wake up and think they can change everything in one or 2 days. It's a long Journey and we need to be patient and gentle with ourselves while we try to improve our daily lives. One of my favourite quotes from the post is the following:

"I suggest to you that there's a better way to get to world-class within the important areas of your life: evolution. Small baby steps. Daily and continuous micro-improvements. Steady and consistent elevations in the way you work, lead and live (Dad always said slow and steady wins the race). Every dream started off small and grew step by step."

Think about all the great things in our lives and ask the question if they happened quickly or it took time to build them? I think most times you'll find the answer is that it takes time to build something great (a historic landmark, a fantastic relationship, a solid business, etc). I like how Robin also explains that if you make 1% improvements daily it won't take you that long to reach your Greatness! I know, ever since I read this post 2 or 3 years ago it has stuck with me and I try to make daily improvements to increase the quality of my life and the others around me. As I mentioned it's an ongoing process but one step at a time is a great way to continue on your Journey. We can lose sight of this sometimes in our society of instant gratification.

What are some of the ways you are working towards greatness? It would be great to hear some of your stories in the comments below. Thanks for checking out my blog, please don't forget to also follow me on Twitter or hook me up on Facebook (I am not sure if my profile works for "non friends", maybe someone can check that and get back to me, thanks). Cheers.

Inspire Me Today - Daily Inspiration, Interviews, Videos & More!

Good day! I read a great, inspiring message over at http://www.inspiremetoday.com/ that goes along with yesterday's post/message. I highly recommend signing up for the Daily Inspiration message from Inspire Me Today (tm). You can visit the site to read the even more about the message of the day or read below. It's great stuff! Thanks!

Patricia Cori

Patricia is the founder of SoulQuest Journeys, radio show host of BEYOND THE MATRIX and author of Where the Pharoahs Dwell.

Be the light you want for the world, always remembering you are the Gaian vibration ...rising. ~Patricia Cori

If today were my last day on Earth and I could share 500 words of brilliance with the world, here are the important things I'd want to pass along to others...

Were I to leave an inspirational message for the world upon my departure from this magnificent planet, it would be simple: Pay Attention.

By and large, our modern societies have imposed the tools and parameters of our utter distraction: cement jungles of our largely dysfunctional cities; inane and manipulative messages of coercive media; the goings-on of our governments with their hidden agendas; daily distractions of our runaway technologies and their abstract impressions, overlaid upon the tapestries of our richly woven lives as "spiritual beings, having a human experience."

Every life is a chalice, which carries the potential to be filled with the all the light of creation, as we learn to embrace our own godliness: co-creators of the Dream and sparks of Divine Spirit. If only we stop, and pay attention to the Earth and to each other—to all living beings—we remember our higher purpose, just as we remember our role in the unfolding of our collective experience ... filling our cups with the liquid light of unconditional love.

Many of us seem to be forever racing through unlimited fields of probabilities, yet at the same time feel somehow stuck within a sense of limitation: running here, running there ... back and forth ... in space and time. Creatures of our societal designs, we have become so intent upon reaching the often unattainable and illusive "goal" that all-too-often, we seem to lose ourselves, blind to the beauty of the journey itself: forgetting that the wonder of life is to be found in the subtle shades of "becoming" ... and not in the black and white borderlands of "arrival."

Ask yourself. How often do you stop and take notice of the pure miracle of the journey itself: that you are birthed ... that you breathe, that you...

Is everyday great?

Hey Everyone,

I found this fantastic video while viewing one of my favourite blogs over @ Goodlife Zen today. I write a lot about how to deal with certain instances throughout our Journey's and two things that have really helped me recently is to be truly grateful for things and to enjoy everyday miracles. We all hear that staying in the present moment is the best way to live life. That can be hard for some of us who over think things or feel overwhelmed or disconnected sometimes. But I really do believe, in those times if you can try to be present and REALLY enjoy the everyday miracles that life brings us EVERYDAY than you can feel peace and love in your heart and mind.

I only ask for 2 special requests if you are going to view this video (and I don't ask for much very often):

1. Turn off everything else around you, close all your browser tabs (that includes email, facebook, twitter), turn off the TV, music, etc.

2. If you like this post and video, please feel free to share it with your friends and family - forward it on, share it in Facebook and Twitter - after you watch it of course :)

I hope that you take 5 minutes of your day to view this very special video. As Mary says over at Goodlife Zen mentions, it can change your life by just viewing this beautiful video. I know it did for me.

How do you feel when you watch this great video? Do you feel grateful for what you have and for what we have around us? Please share your thoughts below.

Thanks for your time,
Adrian

Wish me luck...

I hope everyone is having a great start to the year! I'm not a huge fan of making resolutions, I believe you can do things everyday to become a better person or to help others, etc. However, I am going to list a few things here that I hope to help myself become a more peaceful, relaxed person. I have felt a little anxious over the past few weeks and it could from a number of things. I've been fighting some sort of "sickness" for about a month so I think it's worn me down a little and I may be a little weak and frustrated. Anyhow, I'm not looking for sympathy here because I have a great life and lots to be thankful for! I just want to list a couple of things I really hope to cut back on starting tomorrow to hopefully chill things out a bit and hopefully make myself healthier. I figure it's a good idea to document them here so I can put a little accountability on myself :-)

1. Drink less alcohol:
Don't get me wrong, I am not a obsessive drinker but I do like to have the odd drink here and there. I don't know if I will be able to quit drinking totally but hopefully I can cut it down to a few glasses of wine once in awhile. Maybe I should try just having a couple of drinks on the weekends?

2. No more Coffee (Caffeine):
That's right. I drink too much coffee and as of tomorrow (January 5th, 2010) I am not drinking anymore. I am either going to drink more tea or decaf. I don't think this one will be to difficult. I love my caffeine but I can survive with out it... I hope.

3. Learn to let go:
This one is a little less physical. But yesterday I bought a book called The Little Book of Letting Go by Hugh Prather and I hope it helps me to learn how to let go of things a little more so I'm not holding on to certain things. It's actually a 30 day program to "Cleanse your mind, lift your Spirit and Replenish your Soul". Sounds pretty good doesn't it?

So, to go along with my current Yoga and Meditation practices, I am really going to try my best to work on these 3 "little" tasks. I hope slowly over time it makes a great difference... so, wish me luck on the newest part of my Journey. If anyone wants to give these a try with me, fire off a comment and let me know if you are on board! Thanks, take care!
